About us
The House of Bread Outreach Center is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established by B.A.S.I.C. Ministry Church to serve the holistic needs of inner-city communities in East Oakland and throughout the greater Bay Area.
With East Oakland as our flagship location, the House of Bread Outreach Center was created to respond to food insecurity, homelessness, and systemic barriers affecting individuals and families. At the heart of our work is the Feed My Sheep Program, through which we provide two nutritious meals each day breakfast and lunch to our unhoused neighbors and community members in need. In addition to prepared meals, we distribute groceries and essential food supplies, helping families and seniors maintain consistent access to nourishment at home.
Our mission extends beyond meeting immediate needs. We are deeply committed to empowerment, restoration, and long-term stability. We offer mentorship and sports programs for youth, creating safe, supportive spaces that encourage personal growth, leadership development, and positive life choices. For seniors, we provide outreach and supportive services designed to reduce isolation, promote wellness, and preserve dignity.
The House of Bread Outreach Center also provides empowerment and life-skills classes that equip individuals to rebuild and move forward. These include Joy for Recovery, GED preparation, job readiness training, and other educational and personal development programs aimed at breaking cycles of hardship and fostering self-sufficiency.
Building on a proven outreach model, we envision expanding the House of Bread presence throughout the nine counties of the Bay Area, partnering with churches, community organizations, and local agencies to meet both immediate needs and long-term challenges. Through faith-based compassion, operational excellence, and leadership development, the House of Bread Outreach Center works to feed the body, empower lives, and transform communities, bringing hope and healing to every neighborhood we serve.

The mission of the House of Bread Outreach Center is to serve inner-city communities throughout East Oakland and the greater Bay Area by feeding the hungry, supporting families, empowering youth and seniors, and restoring hope to our unhoused neighbors.
Rooted in faith and developed by B.A.S.I.C. Ministry Church, we exist to help, heal, empower, lead, and prosper individuals and communities through compassionate service, outreach programs, and leadership development demonstrating God’s love in action and bringing glory to our Father in Heaven.
